On April 14–15, 2025, the final transnational project meeting TNM4 of the European project Financial Signs took place in Vienna 🇦🇹. The host of the meeting was the partner organization equalizent, which provided a dignified and efficient setting for partners from various European countries. The Slovak team was represented by Marek Kanaš.
Day 1 – Monday, April 14
The first day focused on summarizing progress to date and preparing for the finalization of project outputs. After initial technical setup, the meeting moved into an intensive working session focused on Work Package 4 (WP4) – developing and testing tools to improve financial literacy among deaf young people. Discussions covered final content adjustments, feedback from target groups, and the last steps needed to complete this work package.
Specific WP4 topics included:
Outcomes of the pilot testing of educational materials
Resources for sign language videos
Feedback records from youth participants
Qualitative findings from focus groups
In the afternoon, the partners toured equalizent’s quality management system, where internal processes and their approach to quality education for people with hearing impairments were presented. This was followed by a working discussion addressing open questions and challenges encountered during the project’s implementation. The session also included an analysis of results from the TNM & Quality Management survey, used to assess the effectiveness of project collaboration and organization.
Day 2 – Tuesday, April 15
The second day was dedicated to finalizing project outputs. Partners presented plans for multiplier events – activities aimed at disseminating the project’s results to target audiences and the professional public. As part of dissemination Work Package 5 (WP5), the following topics were addressed:
Strategies for effectively promoting the project’s outputs
Summary of activities to date (newsletters, website, social media)
Recommendations for future communication beyond the project’s conclusion
In the second part of the day, the partners focused on the project’s sustainability – how to ensure that materials and tools remain accessible and useful even after formal funding ends. This discussion led to the preparation of the final report, including:
Financial statements and timesheets
Structuring of the narrative report
Completion of data on national-level activities
The entire meeting concluded with a joint dinner, giving participants an opportunity to informally reflect on the two years of collaboration, the challenges faced, and the successes achieved together. The final TNM4 meeting thus symbolically marked the closure of the Financial Signs project, which brought innovative tools for financial education in sign language.
