On April 23, 2025, the final conference of the IDEAL project – Increasing Deaf Adult Health Literacy through Innovative Methodologies – took place.

                   

The conference was offered in a hybrid format, with most participants choosing to join online. A total of 25 people attended.

The speaker, Marek Kanaš, presented to the participants:

  • the complete results of the IDEAL project,

  • opportunities for further use of the developed materials,

  • and recommendations on how to continue improving health literacy among deaf adults.

Special attention was given to the Handbook – a guide for adult educators, which was developed within the project and is designed for training in the field of health literacy.

In addition, educational videos and the outcomes of the pilot trainings were also presented.

🧠💬 Participants were reminded that the Erasmus+ IDEAL project website is available, offering fully accessible educational materials on health.

🩺 The website features 10 key topics that explain:

  • how the human body works,

  • how to find reliable health information,

  • and which health recommendations should be followed.

🎯 Project Goals:

✔️ Increase health literacy
✔️ Improve communication between healthcare professionals and patients
✔️ Support deaf adults in making informed decisions about their health
