On October 5-6, 2023, the 2nd transnational project meeting of the Financial Signs project took place in Prešov, Slovakia. The aim of the meeting is to evaluate the progress of the project so far and plan next steps.

The FinSigns project aims to increase financial literacy of deaf youth through educational materials and courses in sign languages. The project partners are organizations from Austria, Italy, Slovakia and Hungary that work with deaf youth.

During the first year, the partners created an interactive map of good practices of financial services for the deaf across Europe. They also prepared a series of animated videos explaining basics of financial literacy in five sign languages.

At the meeting in Prešov, the partners focused on evaluating these outputs. They also planned next steps – preparing a training program for youth workers who work with deaf youth. The goal is to enable them to effectively use the created materials to increase financial literacy of the deaf.

The Financial Signs project thus contributes to greater inclusion of deaf youth in society and increases their chances on the job market. We believe the project results will help deaf young people to better navigate the financial field and make responsible financial decisions.
