On 19-20 February 2024, a 2-day kick-off meeting of the partners of the European project Deaf Culture, Heritage and Diversity (DCHD) took place in Groningen, the Netherlands. It was the first transnational meeting of this 2-year project supported by an Erasmus+ grant.

The meeting was organised by the coordinating organisation Turkoois. It was attended by representatives of the partner organisations Turkoois, Equalizent, WITAF, Innosign and IST – Instituto dei Sordi di Torino.

Innosign was represented at the event by Diana Majerčáková and Marek Kanaš.

The aim of the DCHD project is to raise awareness and understanding of deaf culture, heritage and diversity among Deaf youth and youth workers. Through educational materials and activities, the project aims to strengthen the skills of deaf youth workers for effective education.

During the meeting, the partners set objectives, divided tasks and planned further activities such as the development of surveys, training materials, evaluation framework and visual identity of the project.

Participants left enthusiastic and motivated. We look forward to the further development of the successful project. We will also keep you informed about its activities through the social networks Instagram and Facebook, which we will be launching soon. Follow us!
