DeafCitizen Project: Improving Inclusion and Civic Participation of the Deaf

The DeafCitizen Project is an initiative focused on improving the civic participation and inclusion of Deaf people in society. The goal is to create tools that improve the Deaf community’s access to education, information, and civic rights. This project focuses on solutions that promote their active participation in public life and enable them to better integrate into society.

Expected outcomes of the project:

  1. Development of e-learning tools:
These tools aim to provide Deaf individuals with access to educational materials in a language most accessible to them, thereby increasing their educational level.
  2. Hybrid book:
This book, combining text and visual elements, will be accessible and comprehensible for Deaf individuals, supporting their engagement in various educational and cultural activities.
  3. Specialized dictionary:
The project also includes the creation of a dictionary to overcome language barriers between Deaf individuals and the general public, facilitating communication and interaction with Deaf people.

The goal of the DeafCitizen project is to ensure that Deaf individuals have equal opportunities for education, access to information, and participation in civic life, thereby supporting their full involvement in societal activities.
