Our primary mission is to bring Deaf Studies closer to young Deaf people and youth workers. We aim to help them better understand and appreciate the unique culture, heritage, and diversity of the Deaf community.

Deaf Studies is an interdisciplinary field that encompasses the cultural, linguistic, and historical aspects of Deaf life, including sign language. Currently, this topic is mainly accessible at the academic level, which means that many young Deaf people or youth workers lack the opportunity to explore it.

For Deaf youth, understanding their culture and heritage is crucial, as it helps them build pride in their identity and language. Our goal is to create a bridge between the knowledge of Deaf Studies and the everyday lives of Deaf youth. We construct this bridge by collaborating with Deaf youth workers who play a key role in passing on this knowledge.

Through specifically designed workshops, educational materials, and training sessions, we create opportunities to enhance the work with Deaf youth. Our efforts include:

  • Organizing training and seminars on Deaf Studies for youth workers.
  • Developing educational materials that highlight Deaf culture and history.
  • Building a network of youth workers, enabling the sharing of knowledge and experiences across communities.

Our vision is clear: to empower Deaf youth aged 16 to 25 to discover the richness of their own culture and community. At the same time, we aim to equip youth workers with practical tools and knowledge that will enable them to create inclusive and enriching environments for the Deaf generation.

Together, we are paving the way toward a better future where Deaf culture, heritage, and diversity are fully recognized and celebrated.
