From April 8 to 10, 2025, a three-day Learning, Teaching, Training Activity (LTTA) took place in Brno as part of the Let’s sign about S<3X project. The training was designed for representatives of partner organizations from five countries – Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Italy, and Austria. Each country sent a three-member delegation to jointly explore topics around sexuality, education, and support in sensitive areas. From Slovakia, Diana Majerčáková, Lenka Berezická, and Marek Kanaš took part in the training.
The goal of the program was to strengthen participants’ professional skills, introduce effective approaches to working with sexuality-related topics, and create a stimulating environment for sharing experiences. The entire training was highly interactive, with a focus on practical activities and open group discussions.
The first day began with an introduction and sharing of expectations, concerns, and needs. This was followed by a creative activity – creating a collage on the topic “What is sexuality?”, which sparked a discussion on various perspectives of the subject. Later, participants explored the definition of sexuality and how it manifests across different life stages, particularly in childhood and adolescence. The group also reflected on personal versus professional attitudes when working in the field of sexuality and were introduced to special tools – so-called “boxes” – that support communication and education in this area.
The second day began with reflections on the previous day and continued with a session on how to systematically incorporate sexuality into the work of organizations. Participants became familiar with key terminology and took part in a practical exercise called “Touch Work,” which focused on sensitive perception of boundaries and physical respect. In the afternoon, they explored the “Support Circles” method as a tool for fostering safe and open communication. Discussions also covered how to approach conversations about sexuality, and the day concluded with interactive activities “Explain the Word” and the “Flag System,” which help interpret and assess behavior in various situations.
The third day was dedicated to working with worksheets. Participants were introduced to the structure of different exercises and had the opportunity to try selected activities focused on safer sex, consent, and communication in relationships. The training concluded with a joint summary, reflection, and sharing of impressions from the LTTA.
The training provided many new insights, inspirations, and practical tools. Participants left with new knowledge and motivation to implement what they had learned into practice in their home countries, thereby contributing to the overarching goals of the Let’s sign about S<3X project.
