On 25 March 2025, the 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM4) for the IDEAL Project – Increasing DEaf Adult health Literacy through innovative methodologies – took place in Budapest. This meeting, organized by the host organization SignCoders from Hungary, was also the last project meeting before the official project completion, which is scheduled for 30 April 2025. Innosign was represented at the meeting by Diana Majerčáková and Marek Kanaš.
The meeting began at 9:30 AM with a welcome from SignCoders and a technical setup.
The first topic addressed was the work on the adult educators’ handbook, coordinated by the TUCEP organization from Italy. The results of the field research were presented, along with the completion of the handbook, training for educators, and translations of the final version of the handbook. The discussion focused on current challenges and remaining tasks.
The next topic was improving health literacy for deaf adults, led by organizations IRR (Czech Republic) and CNSE from Spain (representatives from CNSE participated online). The discussion covered mapping gaps in knowledge and skills, the development of curricula and educational materials, pilot testing of educational experiences, and the production of awareness-raising videos. Each section was complemented by brief presentations on progress.
The SignCoders organization presented the progress in developing the digital platform, which will be one of the key outcomes of the project. Discussions covered the structure of the platform, completion timelines, and current challenges. The presentation also included a demonstration of the final version of the website.
The dissemination and spreading of the project’s results were coordinated by INNOSIGN. The status of dissemination activities was reviewed, including the organization of multiplier events, indicators, and target groups. Last tasks and deadlines in this area were also discussed.
The TUCEP organization from Italy presented the current state of project quality and the evaluation of the achieved results. Subsequently, financial and administrative matters were handled by INNOSIGN. The final project report, contract updates, budget, and timeline were discussed.
The meeting officially ended at 16:50, when the coordinators from TEIRESIAS (Czech Republic) and INNOSIGN summarized the results achieved and outlined the final steps before the project’s completion. Open issues were discussed, and a focus was set on the final tasks that need to be completed by the designated deadline. The day ended with a social dinner at 19:00, where partners had the opportunity to informally share experiences and celebrate the successful collaboration.
The IDEAL project, which started with the goal of improving health literacy for deaf adults, is approaching its official completion. The project’s final deadline is set for 30 April 2025, and all partner organizations have expressed satisfaction with the results achieved.
