On March 5th, 7th, and 8th, 2025, the pilot training of the IDEAL project – Increasing DEaf Adult health Literacy through innovative methodologies – took place. The training was originally planned in a hybrid format; however, all participants opted for the online version.

A total of 18 people registered, expressing interest in improving their knowledge of health literacy for deaf adults. The training was led by lecturer Marek Kanaš, who professionally introduced the main topics of the project, the results of current research, and new educational methodologies.

Over the course of the three days, participants became familiar with key topics in healthcare and prevention, which were presented in a handbook developed within the IDEAL project. The training was conducted in an accessible format, with an emphasis on using videos and visual materials to ensure maximum accessibility of information.

We thank all participants for their active involvement and Marek Kanaš for his expert leadership of the training. The pilot training is another important step in improving health literacy among deaf adults in Europe.

The IDEAL project continues its mission, and we look forward to upcoming activities!
